Gemstone Treatments
Here at Dubin's Fine Jewelry, the vast majority of our diamonds and gemstones are untreated. However, a number of colored gemstones undergo some form of treatment in order to enhance and/or stabilize certain color and/or clarity properties. We strive for complete transparency when it comes to each and every item and below are two treatments that some of our products receive. For more information please contact us.
Sapphire, Tanzanite, & More
Heating
The use of heat to effect desired alteration of color, clarity, and/or phenomena. Results are permanent.
Emerald
Oiling
The filling of surface-breaking fissures with colorless oil, wax, resin, or other colorless substance (except glass or plastic) to improve the gemstone's appearance.
